Trail Run Coaching Week, Morzine, France - June 18th - 25th 2017
|
Join myself, Charlie Sharpe and a small group of like-minded trail runners for a week of trail running improvements and breakthroughs in 2017. I've combined my knowledge and experience from over 4000 miles of races and 6 years of successfully coaching hundreds of clients in my training business, into an intensive coaching week where we will discover together what it takes to take your performance to the next level.
I've teamed up with a few local people who live in France and also have an amazing knowledge of the area to ensure we hit the best spots. We've hijacked a chalet along with its staff to look after us and prepare high quality meals, all included. All in all it's going to be a great week where you can leave the stresses of everyday life and purely focus on running and enjoying the holiday! |
The coaching week is aimed at runners who would like to...
Improve their technique and feel more confident over varied terrain, Discover how to strengthen the body, including the core, effectively and specifically to running, Learn what to fuel your body with to improve your recovery and maintain high energy levels Find out and try out safe ways to include quality speed training within your schedule, Learn how to cruise up hills and tackle descents with confidence... And... It's timed specifically for those that might be looking to get a solid block of training in for the big summer races. Also if you'd like to enjoy a fantastic week of trail running with like-minded people in (hopefully) nice weather! We have all the logistics and planning taken care of, meaning all you need to do is pack your bags and book your own flights and then enjoy the running! |
The basic outline for the week...
We'll be staying approx 1 hour from Geneva Airport, close to the Swiss/ French boarder surrounded by fantastic trails and stunning scenery in the valley. You'll just need to get to Geneva airport, on the scheduled day, we'll bring you over to the chalet. Meals are included except for one night where we usually go to a local restaurant, so you might need a bit of spending money for any souvenirs or odd snacks and drinks that you fancy, but that's it. Full details regarding menu etc are finalised nearer to the time (we have catered for those that can't tolerate dairy products etc) |
Each day there will be a short discussion/ workshop on a different aspect of running, a mobility training session in the morning, different running sessions each day which can be adapted to your personal goals each with a different focus, hill training, descending, speed training, long runs and a couple of additional easy runs for those who want to. You'll have plenty to do but also some time to relax and enjoy your holiday of course!
You'll be running through some stunning scenery including technical trails and some fantastic, varied terrain. How fit do I need to be? Ideally you should be comfortably able to run 10 miles in one go as a minimum and be running 3-4 times per week at least. There is time to increase your fitness from now until June but if you're not sure, please just ask, I'll personally be jumping on the phone with each applicant to check we're a good fit and to ensure this really is going to be a great week for you, There's no pressure here and of course nobody will be left behind in the hills! We've not lost anyone yet ;) |
If this sounds like something you might be after, use the contact form below and Charlie will be in touch to have a chat with you about different options available and to see if it's going to fit your needs. If you have any specific queries, please use the comments section as you fill out the form.
You will need to book and pay for your own flights to Geneva. I personally use skyscanner.net to find the best flights. If you're booking in from the UK flight prices can be surprisingly cheap (usually easily under £100 return) from the main airports at this time of year. Flight time is sub 2 hours from Manchester, London, Birmingham. Bristol, Liverpool to Geneva! |
